Messages gone

My envelope says I have like 3 messages, but when I open it up, there is absolutely nothing there.  I cleaned out cookies, rebooted, when I go back in, it says messages again, but I open it up and its empty, again.  Please help

    Nope, didn't work, had 3 on outside of message box, opened it up, nothing was there
