How is it possible to go from 15K fish to 20K within 5 mins?

In this past fishing tournament, there were three of us going back and forth in the top three spots. I stopped playing for a bit when I had 3,395 fish which was a 1,000 fish lead over 2nd place and about 1,200 lead over 3rd. I checked back 4 hours later and 3rd place had jumped to 15,890 and within 5 minutes went to 20,890. Then he jumped to 21,250. I guess he finally decided he had first place locked up. It took me playing the whole weekend to get my 3,400 fish. There is no way this is possible. I have the screenshots. Has anyone ever seen a score that high?

He could have just been a lot further behind in the game. That way by always playing the new levels they would have got 10 fish instead of just 1. Makes sense no.

I get a couple of hundred by doing a new level that you haven't passed, I've done that myself. I'm talking 1,000 fish per minute. The average is 20 matches or 200 per new level. That means he passed  about 20 to 25 new levels in 5 minutes. Not possible.
