Candy Crush Soda now takes too long to launch/load

The latest update (at the time of posting this) has created a huge delay in launch of the game...it takes a whopping 3 minutes before the main GUI (play/connect) appears. Then it takes another 2 minutes or so for the game session (after tapping "play") to load.

I use a Samsung SM-N900 running Android 5.0 and would like to know what is wrong with the combo of the game's current version and my Samsung Galaxy Note3. Thanks.
