Re-started game from level 1 but have lost loads of candies/gold bars etc.

Ok, so maybe I was being cheeky in that I thought my hard earned candies and bars (a lot paid for via in-app purchases) would transfer to my original game, but they didn't. Is that an error or purposeful via King?
I quite enoy re-starting the game because you get lots of opportunities to buy cheap candies/gold bars etc, BUT the main reason is because I love going up the levels and relaxing with this lovely game. The higher the level the less enjoyment I find, which is why I re-start.
