Game glitchy when I get big booms

I played CCSS on my old phone - a Samsung J7 Sky Pro - with no issues at all. I had to upgrade my phone due to a dying battery and now have a Moto G Power and CCSS plays like crap. :( If I get any booms or cascades of explosions, the audio AND video of the game both glitch. I have googled and tried every solution I can find so far. Any help or suggestions would be great! I love my game and hate not being able to play on what is supposed to be a "better" phone (specs wise at least). Thanks in advance!

Thank you @Nix66. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, cleared cache and data, turned off all game helper/assist programs (Moto gametime was on by defaut), turned off battery saver, tried installing the original Candy Crush and it does it as well. Turning off all sound and music seems to help a little, maybe, but playing without it does kind of ruin the feel some. :)

The phone has 4gb ram. Where do I see what version I have?

I found it. Says version 1.188.3 which google play says there are no further updates.
