what is the purpose of the soda bottles that you lose when you don't complete a level?

Are you referring to Rainbow Streak?
When Rainbow Streak is offered in your level, you have to complete that level in order to win the bottle . The bottle increases in number every time you complete a level. It has to be consecutively completed or you'll lose the bottle/bottes Within it contained different boosters to be placed in that level you're currently playing. When you have this streak, you don't need to use your own boosters.
