I don't get a chance to play but my opposition has had 4 turns and won the game. I keep losing rewards because of this and its spoils my game.
Sounds like you have the game where friends must win levels, just like I do.
If your chosen Shipmates doesn't play levels whilst you're online, you don't get cannon balls, or you only get 3 when you log in next time, because it's what the game can store for you. Make sure to restart your game frequently, to collect the new balls they have won for you. You don't get any balls if they don't play, so chose active playing friends.
If you must collect balls of your own, make sure to use them as soon as you get them.
there are 2 diff versions of shipmates. to get hits, you either have to play levels or wait for your shipmates to play levels. Your opponent may have to play new levels for hits and played 12 levels very fast.
