Fish booster doesn't work

When starting a level in CC Soda if I choose a fish booster it doesn't seem to do anything. At the start of the screen one fish swims out and then magically changes to two fish at the center of the board but no candies are affected. But the count on my fish boosters is reduced by one each time I try this. This has been a problem for a number of months now. What's going on?

As far as I know, the fishies have always done this, like you described.

I am having the same problem too. The fish don't split into 3 fish anymore even when you mix it with a stripe. You only get one fish and the if mixed with the stripe one stripe fish candy. Before if you used the fish they would go into useful spots. Like to break the blocks or to break a candy in the black box thing. Now they just go to random candies which is pointless to use or purchase.
