Hi everyone! πŸ‘‹

This month we celebrate Pride in Candy Crush Soda Saga and while Kimmy is busy preparing Rainbow Reef for celebration we thought we’d take some time to learn more about the Pride flags. The traditional rainbow flags are not the only symbols for the varied range of sexuality in the queer spectrum. Here are some of the many Pride flags in the LGBTIQA+ community. Do you recognize any of them?

Original Pride flag: Designed by Gilbert Baker in 1977. The colors had a different meaning then, Hot pink =Β  Sex, Red = Life, Orange = Healing, Yellow = Sunlight, Green = Nature, Turquoise = Magic/Art, Indigo = Serenity, Violet = Spirit

Traditional Gay Pride Flag: the most well-known rainbow flag.

Progress Pride Flag: the flag in Soda’s Pride parade! To learn about their meaning, see our Player Community post on the colors of the flag.

Bisexual Flag: inspired by an older symbol of bisexuality, the "biangles," two overlapping pink and dark blue triangles.

Pansexual Pride: created on the web in 2010, the pink represents women, yellow non-binary and gender-nonconforming people, and the blue is for men.

Asexual Flag: also created in 2010, it represents many ace identities.

Intersex Flag: designed in 2013, this flag intentionally features nongendered colors that celebrate living outside the binary.

Transgender Flag: designed by trans woman Monica Helms, where the light blue is the traditional color for baby boys, pink is for girls, and the white in the middle is for those who are transitioning, those who feel they have a neutral gender or no gender, and those who are intersexed.

Genderfluid/Genderflexible Flag: the pink stands for femininity. The white represents the lack of gender. The purple represents the combination of masculinity and femininity. The black symbolizes all genders, including third genders. The blue reflects masculinity.

Genderqueer Flag: created in 2011 by Marilyn Roxie, the genderqueer flag highlights androgyny with lavender, agender identities with white, and nonbinary people with green.

Non Binary Flag: created by Kye Rowan in 2014, this flag was a response to nonbinary people feeling improperly represented by the genderqueer flag. The yellow symbolizes gender outside a binary. The white, a mix of all colors, represents those with many or all genders. Purple stands in for those who feel both binary male and female or fluid between them. The black is for the agender community, without sexuality or color.
