How can I get my phone to accept Facebook device approval?

Following an update my Win10 phone will no longer connect to Facebook. It says I need FB device approval. I go to FB notifications and select the device but phone still says I need to approve it, no matter how many times I do it. Have tried reinstalling Candy Crush but can't sync with FB so am back at level 1 !!
