Game doesn't load

Candy Crush Soda Saga was working fine on my Win 11 PC until yesterday. It now doesn't progress from the loading screen. I repaired and reset the app and finally uninstalled it. It behaves the same after reinstallation from the Microsoft Store. I have updated everything and downloaded Visual Studio as suggested elsewhere in this forum, but nothing seems to change the situation. Any suggestions?

    Welcome to Soda community @Peewee

Sorry to hear this. Please try the troubleshooting first:

provided you saved your progress with a King account, log out of the game - clear the cache -> not data  that will delete your boosters - power off your device for at least 10 seconds - restart your device - check for game and device updates - log back into the game. Also make sure you have at least 2GB free memory storage to run the game smoothly and try to connect to a WiFi connection instead of using cellular data.

Clear cache in Android: go to settings - tap on apps - tap on candy crush soda - tap on storage - tap on clear cache (not data❗️)

Clear cache in iOS: go to settings - tap on Safari - tap on Clear history and website data

If that doesn’t help, we need more info.

What kind of device do you play the game on, make and model please.

Do you play via King or Facebook account and on Soda app?

I am using a Windows 11 PC hardwired to my router.

I have 16GB RAM of which 9GB is currently available.

As this has been ongoing for a week, I have already cleared the cache and the data. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Soda app several times, and I have the app version 1.253.100.0

I can play using Facebook, but only by starting from scratch as it uses a different user name. I can also play other games, such as Candy Crush Saga with the Windows app.

I have even reinstalled Windows, in case one of the essential files was corrupt, and Windows Update reveals nothing to download. My NVidia driver is also up to date (as of 10/10)

My user ID is 13062760848, which I had to install on my phone to get.

Hello @GavinC Yes I forwarded your info but haven’t heard back yet.

I hope @Peewee will provide their info, so I can forward it too.

If there is matching information, it will be easier for the Game Studio to find a cause 🙂

@GavinC @Peewee21 Hi there, very sorry to hear about the troubles your experiencing with the game on Windows. This sounds similar to an issue that was found a while back, where the solution is to follow the steps found in this comment.

I see you mentioned earlier that you installed Visual Studio, I just want to make sure that you also installed the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable, found in the link above (If you installed arm64, try the x64 version). If you have it, then reinstall the app and it should help with this issue.

Again, very sorry about this problem and I hope we can resolve it soon!

As suggested, I clicked on the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable link, which I found was was already installed on my PC. As there was a "Repair" option, I clicked on it and then rebooted the computer. After ensuring that there were no Windows Updates to download, I retried the Soda app, but it is still not working...

In this case I would look to uninstall it and reinstall it instead of repairing it. One example can be shown here. Then reinstall it with the link above.

We're continuing to investigate this from our end as well, thank you for your patience with this.

Thank you for the advice. Sadly, uninstalling and reinstalling all the C+++ programs didn't help - the problem remains the same.

Hi again, very sorry to hear that the problem didn't get resolved.

Our developers are looking into the issue right now but unfortunately we don't have an estimate on when it can get resolved. If you're able to, we recommend that you log in to Facebook to continue to play on the same device.

We'll reach out to you as well for further checks on potential solutions. Thank you for your understanding!

    Hi @GavinC 🙂

    Welcome to the Community!

    Few things:

1.) You said that the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable was already installed in your PC, is it the latest version?

2.) Have you tried running the game in the compatibility mode?

3.) This article might help in troubleshooting - https://geekchamp.com/how-to-fix-games-not-working-in-windows-11/

I hope your game will run again.

Hey! Would you like to give us your opinion?
