I've been having the same issue with the weird glitch with the Shipmates pirate hats; even before the update. I did the update last night, Pacific Standard Time 🙂, and Soda Cup FINALLY showed in my activities. But, of course, it said Soda Cup Finished! Lost out on that one. I was also having connection issues, even before the update, but it only takes seconds to work itself out.

Maybe your cake was 60 slices last week, not 65. Because you got the same cake rewards as follows:
You can see there are five more slices in the fourth tier and ten more slices in the last tier. 5+8+10+15+22=60. It's very difficult to take this photo.😁 But it can show the layout and rewards clearly. You are very unfortunate because those teams had 60-slice cake last week changed back to original 45-slice cake this week mostly. But you are fortunate to get the locked boosters version of BAC, so it's never mind😆
The glitch of Shipmates pirate hat appeared since last version 1.269, but I feel it is very funny.🤣🤣
You may have second chance in Soda cup at 1:00am 17th June California time.
I am very upset about the Soda race and Kimmy's candy hunt problems😭😭 now.

You're right, it was 60. Kimmy's Candy hunt has never worked right for me. I was in the lead this week, and then it stopped counting, so I'm out of it. Hopefully I get a second chance with Soda Cup; it wouldn't surprise me if it doesn't work though. Thank goodness for glitches! 😉

As the cake event is a team activity, you don't need to bake 45 slices on your own. You can bake the first few slices only. Recipe 1-4 are usually very easy levels. Recipe 5 is normal level. You may bake one slice and then get the whole cake rewards. When you are playing the bake a cake, you can get team points also, it makes you earn the team rewards as well.
You had that feeling because your teammates cannot finish the whole cake weekly. You could move to another very active team.
