Can't double tap specials

Question

I reinstalled the game and made an account when before I played without one and now I can't double tap specials. The game is basically unplayable for me now and no longer enjoyable. I have seen two different responses to this question from the past, but not sure which is true. It is a test only for a few people or is something wrong with the app and everyone has it? I don't know which answer comes from someone who works for the company. Please help.

Initially, the double tapping boosters was a test, and was rolled out to multiple players. However, the Studio monitors the use of it and has decided for the time being to only install the double tapping to a certain test group. It is therefore very possible that eventually everyone will get the double tapping back in the game or that everyone will lose this function. We have no further insight on what these choices are based on.
