AlphaBetty Level 40 not recognizing correct number of tiles

I type s-t-e-a-k and it is only recognized as a 4 letter word. There are no vines and all letters are worth at least one point. Why only 4 letters? Same problem with t-o-y-e-r (wonder what that means?) - recognized as a 4 letter word, too.

    Level 1

    Level 40 you are trying to get 4, 6 , and 7 letter words. So 5 letter words will only remove 4 letter words.

    I just found this on apptipper.com

    Not all tiles are equal: Using tiles entangled with vines to collect words won’t count towards the number of tiles needed to collect a word. A six-letter word made with two entangled tiles will only count as a four-letter word for example. A great way to remove vines is by making five-letter words which willcount as four-letter words. A second way to remove vines quickly is by using Line Blasters.
