How do Cropsy spawn points work?

I'm quite new to this game, and I'm wondering how the game decides where to spawn Cropsies. I am used to the Candy Crush games where there are specific tiles where Candies spawn, but in this game they seem to also spawn below some blockers. Can anyone explain me how they work?

Unlike Candy Crush that you have more complex rules with various goals to accomplish, Farm Heroes works a bit differently.

Cropsies can spawn under certain blockers as weeds but there are other blockers such as the Ice, Spider weebs which cropsies won't spawn under.
