when you say you've lost the ability... are they just not showing or do you get an error message? Can they see your requests and are you getting any at all.
which device are you playing on and which method do you log in with?

I have heard back from our community manager. She asked the studio for you and they are not reporting any issues. So they have suggested this :
try disconnecting the game from FB and/or King account, close the game app and restart the device. During this process, players must make sure they are connected to a strong WiFi or mobile data connection.
Once done, connect the game app back, play a few rounds and then try to ask for lives. If they are still having issues, then they need to contact support so they can have a look at their device and game details and provide further troubleshooting steps.
