I am not sure about your second question...removing the app from the list. Is this the same as uninstalling and reinstalling? I would prefer not to do the uninstalling/reinstalling steps because I am going to lose all the boosters that are saved in the device and not the game. I hope I am not misunderstanding the question. When the CM asked about "Removing the App from "list of recently used Apps", they did not suggest the reinstallation.
Please check below
Once you open your phone and unlock it, you should see 3 tiny buttons at the bottom of the screen as shown in below image (courtesy - Yahoo search)!
In those 3 buttons, the middle one is always "Home" button! You can just press on it to come out of any of the screen you are on (even if you are in middle of playing);
The Left Arrow button —> Is to go back. It varies on each device. On my phone, I have it to the far right.
The "Square" icon button (the far right button in above picture) —> You might be seeing an icon with 3 tiny vertical lines (that's what I have on my Samsung phone)!
This the one you need to check what the CM asked you for! So, click on that — if you do not have Apps listed there, you will see "No recently used Apps" on the screen — If there are any apps, you will see a button (mostly) at the bottom of the screen, that says "Close All" — Click on that button and close all Apps.
Done!! Now, you have cleared all the "recently used Apps"😊

Where were you looking for the App version? Did you not find it on the screen where "Accessibility", "Customer care", "Community", etc., buttons appear?
Can you check in your Google Play Store to see which version of the App you have right now?
Also, can you check if you have cleared the "recently used Apps"?
