So we've had a look and we've done some tweaks, can you please check your game on all devices, disconnect them from your King/Facebook account, close the game app open it and see if it puts you on level 2616 on all of them?

Brilliant, all devices are now in synch at level 2610. On one device I had reached level 2620 but after clearing it's data and cache it dropped back to 2610. What I will do now is to play a couple of levels on this device and see if the other devices synch, I will let you now how it goes. Thanks for your help.

It sounds like before your mom changed the device, the game on the older one was not connected and backed which means it might have to be manually restored.
In order to help, we will need the Game ID from the game app on the new device. Go on her game and select Profile:
Double-tap on the King logo and voilà, the logo should disappear to reveal your User ID.
