For the holidays, my family gets together over a weekend and we exchange names so that we get that person a gift. We decide who's house we are going to eat. People call one another and see what everyone is going to bring to the table. We go to that house and exchange the gifts after we eat. We play games at the end after everyone eats. We have a few people out of the state and they also come in the week before Christmas. The out of town relative stay until New Years and then they fly back.
Hi @Lynette , love this thread. I still have a young Grandson that makes Christmas the one and only conversation. You cannot help but laugh and smile. To remember what is was like when I was young. Oh to have that feeling again.
This year will be at our daughters house. For the youngest grandson, we always hide his present. We give him a hint then he has to go find it. He has to open the gift before he gets another clue. That way he is not tearing thru them. We buy him little things, or put a dollar in a Christmas bag.
We started this with our 2 older Grandson. Give lots of laugh and hugs.
@Lady_Choo , your badge is awesome! Nice job π€

Christmas time was always the most special event in my life.
As a child I always remembered my Dad sleeping on the sitting room floor Christmas afternoon. We had Winter lambs and he was busy lambing. So he would be up half the night.
We went to a relatives house each year where there was a big gathering, as a a child I never had or saw the food that was prepared before in my life.
I remember those days fondly, and the kinda Santa Grotto, it was truly special as was Boxing Day with my dear Aunt.
Christmas is sad for me as a mum in as much as I long for my daughter. I hope and wish she is ok and happy. Many Christmas's have passed by, and I have not heard from her.
My son has stayed by me, I am so thankful I have 1 grown up child that will come to me for help, or just to chat and off load, and also have time for me too.
My greatest wish is to see my baby girl, my rock, my soul again. I love her so much, I miss her, I don't know if she is alive or dead, it is immense pain. She is/would be 22.
