How to turn off and keep off sound effects for Pet Rescue

How can I turn off and keep off sound effects for Pet Rescue ? I have selected the off setting for sound effects , it shows the check mark but I can still hear it. The off setting for the music works but not the sound effects . I have cleared cache , then rebooted my device, made no change. I went to my FACEBOOK settings and confirmed I have selected app sounds off. I've also not cleared cache to see if that made a difference , it doesn't . I don't want to turn the sound off on my device because I want to listen to my music while playing the game . It is only a problem with Pet Rescue and it wasn't always this way, this issue started maybe a week or so ago.

That's a strange one, I just checked in my game on my Android device and both mute options are working for me. Have you checked for any updates or tried reinstalling the game?

Hi and welcome to the community.
You can turn off the settings from within the game but if that doesn't solve the issue, please could you start a discussion with your issue, as the previous one was that the music wouldn't stay off but it was an issue which has since been resolved. 🤗
