We were 2 weeks on vacation on Sylt, the northernmost island of Germany. It is located just before the Danish border and when the weather is nice you can see Denmark in the distance.
Our journey was by train from the southeastern tip of Germany, across the country. In total, we took the train for 9 hours and changed trains 3 times.
When we arrived we were greeted very nicely at the hotel and had nice rooms with great views.
While the rest of the country was groaning under a heat wave, it was rather fresh and cool at the North Sea. We had little sun and a lot of rain.ย
In the evening we often sat on the beach with a glass of sparkling wine and watched the sunset.ย
During the day we often took walks on the beach with fresh wind and good sea air.
