Can't connect BW3S to my account/profile

What do you think could be the cause of my inability to login/connect BW3S to my Facebook and/or Google profile. It certainly isn't my internet connection because updating the app is easy and successful. I don't want to flush out the game's cache and loose my offline progress (which I'm trying to sync by connecting with my online profile). I have a screenshot but don't see how I can attach it here (perhaps through email).
