Why can’t I add a payment method on iPhone?

Hi, on your Iphone you should have a credit card already added. So when you go to purchase something in the game, for instance, go to purchase Gold, select what you want to buy then on your phone it will tell you to double click to complete the purchase.
You do not enter a credit card in the Community itself.

Thank you, I appreciate you responding. I ageee that is how it should work but when I try to purchase it “contacts the store” then says “purchase unsuccessful no money was removed from your account”. I have even checked my Apple ID to make sure my payment is not expired but I still have gift card $$ in addition to my credit card info being up to date.
Quite the mystery! And I’m stuck on level 305-Nightmarishly hard level - I’m out of Gold so can’t buy more lives to finish! 🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️.
