Hi! November means for me the fall colors, because this is the month when the leaves take all their beautiful red, yellow and orange colors in my country! 🇬🇷
I have never heard of Black treacle. I had to look it up. Thanks for the information. I love this kind of thread. I learn so much from different areas of the world. 💕
Oh my gosh, that is sooooo beautiful. Here is Texas we have brown and green! 😂 I may have to come visit you 😁
Very welcome my friend, I also love learning new things 💜
I have now idea why this British dessert is called Treacle Tart?
It is really delicious especially with clotted cream if you have a sweet tooth. My dear Gran made an awesome one.
However treacle is molasses and syrup is syrup, and it is syrup used in this dish. I have seen treacle confused with syrup many times 🤗
OMG that looks yummy and so rich. So I looked it up and clotted cream is like our butter.
That looks like our pecan pie without the pecans. 🥧
😊thank you Jo that is really interesting about our cultures 💜
November also means Thanksgiving to me. I try to actually BE thankful, and now that I’m a mom, teach my kids that it’s about being thankful, not just about the meal. I also reflect on the complicated history of the holiday and mourn/acknowledge the treatment of the indigenous Americans that are the root of the holiday. Humans are complicated, and I allow myself to really explore that during this month. ♥️
Thank you so much for joining in. When you become a Mom, we all start thinking a little different. You are doing very important work in guiding your kids. 🤗
Interesting
Thanksgiving is a time of year where we actually all sit at the same table at the same time. As a chef, I always bake and cook. There were days where I would be at work, cook a 50lb turkey then come home and do it again. Though I live in a tropical climate, I long to be on a tropical beach having sea food, and having a couple of mai-tais.
I wish everyone here in the King Community a Happy Thanksgiving, 🦃🍎🍏
