Framerate suddenly dropped Win10 tablet

I've been playing CC Friends for a few weeks (Win10 tablet). This morning something changed! I can see about 2mm of my desktop on the left and right side of the CC game screen, and the framerate has dropped to about 5 frames per second, making the game unplayable.
What happened? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, but it's exactly the same.
Other King games (bubble witch, and other CC games) are normal. Only CC Friends is misbehaving.
Advice appreciated!

@markw Hello and welcome to the Community! I play Candy Crush Friends on Windows 10 too, but I never got a sudden framerate drop like what you have experienced. Can you phrase us some information about your tablet; e.g., specs and upgrades? Oh, and could you try to set several programs not to run at startup from Task Manager? I hope this helps you!

Hi all,It's a acer 10" tablet with atom processor; windows updates are switched off, so there have been no updates that correspond to the sudden appearance of this problem.As I said, the game was perfect until this weekend. Something about the game changed (**the game**, not my tablet, since all other King games are unaffected). It has nothing to do with the startup applications, since those are unchanged between the time there was no problem, and now).
