Why didn't I get 3 stars?

I'm trying to better an old score. Three stars showed up but the "main menu" is still only showing 2.

Yeah!  I know the feeling!!!  But, it might just be a glitch!!  Sometimes, a simple step like --> Force closing the App -- clearing the cookies / cache -- restarting the device after 2 minutes would do the trick and brings back our recent score on the level!! 

Did you try that and see if your new score popped up?  Just wondering... was this in your Candy Friends game or some other game?  I have noticed this a lot in my Farm Heroes but not in any other games... hence, curious
