I donβt have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (thank goodness, it sounds dreadful), but I was just tagged to this thread. September happens to be Childhood Cancer Awareness month, & I am a survivor of a βzebraβ of pediatric cancers, Ewings Sarcoma when I was five. Back then, it was considered terminal, with 1-2% chances of making it. That was almost 44 years ago, and Iβm still here (most of me, anyway, I had my left leg amputated when I was 18 for problems caused by the radiation and multiple surgeries). Doctors now call me a βunicorn,β as folks who had Ewings that long ago are a rare sight.
I have chronic pain from the amputation, meditation and distractions like Candy Crush help with that. But I am still here (and donβt need to match my socks anymore ππ¦΅), so I canβt complain too much!
TL/DR: I went from being a zebra to now being a unicorn. π
