What's the point of all the various 'costumes' for the friends?

I'm fairly new to this, been playing less than two weeks and just hit level 300. Maybe I'm missing something, but I find it very frustrating that the 'tickets' from the boxes are wasted on these costumes for already unlocked friends rather than being used for boosts or tools or unlocking new friends. I mean, the friends don't gain any powers that I've seen when they get a new costume, or not that I've seen.

Costumes are part of the game, part of the fun, nothing more, nothing less!!! 😃😉

Agree! I like the different costumes! They are not as in Crush on the Run, where they have special abilities! They are just funny costumes!!
