East Coast of the United States. This year has flown by. Seems like I just got used to writing 2021 - LOL

In the United States, we all wait for the world famous Times Square crystal ball to be illuminated and "dropped" (i.e., descend from) a flagpole at the top of One Times Square. There is a countdown so the ball starts to drop at exactly midnight in New York City. The conclusion of the drop is followed by fireworks shot from the roof of One Times Square, along with celebratory music.
