Does anyone know what the pop rocks formerly known as pound cake are ? I’m not asking as to what they do as a blocker instead I just want to know what sweet treat they are based on ?

In my game it is called a "pop shower". In Wiki (my language) I found the following:

In molecular cuisine, a crackling shower – also known as crackling shower, crackling or crackling sugar – refers to carbon dioxide bubbles enclosed with sugar.

Popping sugar was invented in 1956 by American food chemist William A. Mitchell. For General Foods Corporation in New Jersey, he was looking for a way to make powder soda. However, since this did not succeed with the cracker sugar, the company was initially not interested in using the new product. It was not until 1976 that the idea came up to add flavors to the sugar and market it as a candy.

For production, the sugar is heated until it becomes liquid. It is then exposed to carbon dioxide under high pressure (40 bar) and then cooled.

By chewing or sucking, the carbon dioxide bound in the crackling sugar is released and leads to a crackling on the tongue. The trapped gas escapes quickly compared to the shelf life of sugar, which is accelerated by high humidity.

Various fears about health hazards have so far been dispelled, among other things because of the low weight content of the compressed gases.

Pop rocks were a candy in the USA that when you placed them on your tongue they literally popped.
