My friends!
I can't seem to ask this question very succinctly, and this issue is a minor one in the grand scheme of issues, so you know, it's lower in priority, but I've noticed that the way the discussion pages are ordered seems inconsistent to me and I wondered why. Some of the pages appear in reverse chronological order, aka latest on top (which is my preference) so that the most recent comments are to be found on Page One; and some pages are chronological, which means going to the last page to see the latest comments, which I understand can be logical. I wondered whether it had anything to do with being linked to announcements made a long time ago (in 2020) but have been modified/updated and are therefore still "open" for discussion
This is not a massive issue, but I do find it frustrating as I can often find myself reacting to comments made years ago and commenting not exactly appropriately, such as responding in some games played in the Off Topic area, for example.
So, my question is this:
Can I set the order myself in settings anywhere? I had a bit of a look around, but am none the wiser for it. Which will be no surprise to my friends.
Thank you.
Hello @Nanninomix, and thank you for your question. Unfortunately, there is no way for a member to set the order of pages in discussions. Typically, when a member posts a comment to a discussion, it is are added to the last page of that discussion. However, if a member posts a new discussion, or a new Support question, or a new Idea, it is posted on the first page of the corresponding section in the game forum.
You may also notice this -- If a member wants to comment in a thread in which they have already commented, they may be returned to the page with their previous comment. Even though it does not appear to be the last page in a thread, the new comment will be added to the last page in the thread. This commonly occurs in counting games in the Off-topic section.
Thanks @MountainMom, very helpful. And yes, I have just started playing those counting games and alphabet games and have been caught out a few times by not responding or commenting on the most recent post. I shall just have to try to remember to check until it become second nature for me .
