Lost progress in Striped Candy Contest, lost all boosters, all mail

Last night before bed I was #1 in the Striped Candy Contest.  Lo and behold, when I woke up this morning and l opened up my app, I had lost all progress in the contest AND had lost all my boosters, even my mail!  This is ridiculous.  The contest ends tonight, I did open up a ticket with support but its Sunday and I'm sure they are not going to address it until tomorrow.  I won't play this game anymore if this is going to happen.  Anyone else have this problem?

Hi Sheriff Ep, sorry for the delay in responding but thank you for writing us here at King Care.     

To qualify for the reward, you must have been in the top 3 on the Leader Board at the exact time when the challenge finished.  It cannot be at any point during the event.   When it ends, you will be able to see where you ranked and then the rewards will be paid out.  If you didn’t wait until the event ended, then you might have been bumped down in the rankings by others who played to the end.  Please keep this in mind for future challenges!

I was #1 when I went to bed, when I woke up I had NO POINTS WHATSOEVER. That isn't just not placing in the top 3, that is a TOTAL RESET of my contest progress. In the future, please read my initial post carefully before trying to answer my question...
