New fish aren't so smart

With the introduction of "fishing season", there are lots of fish now swimming around the board.  The problem is, these particular fish are incredibly stupid and aren't actually programmed to help in any way.  I'm on level 3377 and I get lots of fish, but none of them EVER eat the licorice despite the jelly being completely gone.  If you're going to offer fish, can we get them doing something to help?  Otherwise, they're just a nuisance exploding my colour bombs before I want them to be, etc.

Absolutely agree, I am new, and I am on level 170, and I used the fish booster, but for some reason, they are just getting rid of frosting which clearly does not need to be cleared and are getting rid of my colour bombs.

@dylanboora post below explains the Swedish Fish. Would also check for game update and log out and restart you device. log back in. There was a fix to stop Swedish fish attacking color bombs

Level 170

This level has hard difficulty as you need to break lot of blockers with jellies. For this level you need to make special combos specially with colorbomb and try to break chocolate in every move so they wont increase and waste move. Try to play more near to jellies so you can break all

based. im on 2610 and none of those fishes help. i think they can be used in breaking jelly only. otherwise, theyre useless and vandalizing
