What is the ribbon meter that randomly pops up in a game?

Sometimes I’m playing a game and all of a sudden a meter will pop up and 3 green candies will appear. When I match them they turn into stripes. The meter seems to be on a timer. Sometimes I beat it and end up with the purple gift candies that turn into wrapped candies. But I have no idea how it works or how to beat the timer. Does anyone know!?

Hi @Victoria_3_2, when you go to reply to a message look just above and you will see a whole bunch of icons.  The 10th icon from the left is the photo image icon.  Click on that and it's going to open to ask you where the print screen is located.  Find it and then click and it should upload here.
