Candy Crush wont sync with new device

Hi,
I have been playing Candy Crush on my iPhone for year. I received an old ipad recently and wanted to play on both devices. I created a king account and logged into both devices. My name and picture transferred over but the level I was on did not. I reverted back to level 1 on the ipad. Can you help me to sync both devices?
