Yeah, sorry Eddie_Sparrow. Don't know what I was thinking calling it a space ship, I meant the UFO.
I very seldom purchase. I build up Boosters through competitions and such.
By competing in the Space race, the UFO is one of the boosters on offer ending first. The Daily race offers the same when all 6 is completed. Thus stretching the last 5 levels benefits more than finishing Fantastic 5
What do you mean the space ship? Do you mean the ufo or the bots that sometimes are space ships and sometimes something else? Do you complete 2 episodes then use the 10 golds bars to buy a ufo?
There was a time not so long ago when you could elect to "cash out" the sugar drops whenever you wanted to
I agree, but you should be able to turn the feature off.
Still 4 hours for the whole episode is great. Week done!
Ps. It took me just under 4 hours today, starting at 9:53 and finished by 13:50, Though I kept running out of boosters so had to play chocolate box and collect sugar drops in between so it took longer than I would have liked:

Really. Those are people who already completed the race? Didn't realize that.
Although it would be lovely to have that facility, unfortunately it is based on players who have already completed the levels, so not a live race. That's why if you delay starting the episode until you have time to complete it you will be way faster than others have already managed. In a way I'm glad I'm on Android and racing against people who've completed them on Windows 10, much harder to crush on the fly with a laptop or desktop!

The studio appears to doing some testing with timed boosters. First a large group of people lost the ability to get regular boosters from collecting sugar drops and got timed boosters instead. Now it appears that some people are getting timed boosters for the daily calendar and some said they even get some with the daily…
Collecting Sugar Drops has been an integral part of the game and a much loved feature where players had the opportunity to collect them and earn free rewards every day. It now appears the studio plans to take it away. Please vote here if you want the studio to bring back this ability.

Many Candy Crush Saga players would like to see more opportunities to win the UFO and Party boosters. How about adding them to the Daily Treat Calendar?
