May I know whether you are referring to the notification as per the image below and the "lives full" circled in orange?
If the answer is yes, please look at the button next to it that states "on". "on" means, you get notified if your lives are full. If you don't want to be notified when your live is full, simply disable this notification by taping on the "on" button and the word "off" will appear.

@Isobel_Mckenna Hi and welcome, not sure if i have misunderstood your question but if a have apologies.
You cannot accept lives if you lives are full, you can only accept when you have less than 5 and only accept enough to get you to 5 lives as this is the max limit allowed unless you have gained a life from a feature in the game taking you to 6 in total.
The lives notification is settings is so you get notification when your lives are full
If your problem is different please come back to us with a little more information and will try to help you better

@Isobel_Mckenna Hi, the settings is not saying your lives are full it is on so you get a message to tell you when the lives have filled back up to maximum lives. if you turn it of you do not get a message.
If your having problems receiving lives try disconnecting from facebook and then disconnect from the game and also disconnect your wifi. restart your device and then turn your wifi back on and reconnect to facebook and then the game and see if this resolves your issue

Hi and welcome to the community.
There has been some troubling reports regarding sending or recieving lives. I believe freddy has given you very good tips. But if they dont work try to update your facebook application or reinstall your facebook application. Then you login again and check if it solves your case.
