A fair few people are experiencing this problem at the moment and think is was mainly due to a Facebook platform update.
All i can suggest at the moment is to check you Facebook permission settings. go to Facebook settings , webs and apps and check all your game and notification settings are set to active
Hopefully this will solve your problem, or this issue will be resolved soon

Very sorry about that. There is an issue faced by a lot of players due to facebook settings. I am sure the studios are working on the issue. Just to make sure everything is ok with your browser please update it or try with another browser. If you are using Microsoft Edge for example, then try with Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Opera and vice versa.
