Flying saucers no longer useful
Hi folks
I’ve just wasted 2 flying saucers boosters because they are not targeting the white squares that are otherwise inaccessible in games on iOS (iPhone X).
They used to be awesome for the last couple of squares...but now I am wasting the boosters and losing the levels.
Is this a bug or has something changed? 😳

@emelanie Hi and welcome, Agree with most of the comments above, i play using iphone as one of my devices and 99% of the time the UFO is one of the most useful boosters to help you complete a level, but i have always found now and again the placement totally random on certain types of levels. So it does not do what you really want it to do. Think its just one of those things that we have to put up with a bit like the Swedish fish, they can be great but now and again you wonder what use they are

No it is not a bug. Targets are "random".
Early in the level it will target the blockers, but as you progress, it may not target it. It very seldom, in my experience, targets blockers that are grouped close together, with more than one Wrapped Candy. As a general rule for me, I try and use it with more than 5 moves left.
Swedish Fish are the same, only in my experience they never target the blockers towards the end of the level.

This booster is randomly placed on the playing field. Unfortunately not always where it should be. It helps to destroy blockages at the beginning. Unfortunately not always at the end.

Hiya there @emelanie try clearing blockers in the beginning of the game. Use the saucers only when you only have a few moves left. Also only target the blockers that are in the way if you are in the collecting levels and ignore the ones in the corners first to make the drops focus on dropping through the middle and save moves.

Yes, the targets are usually random.
In my experience however the UFO is more effective even in the higher levels when you need to destroy jelly or get orders (like blocks or waffels). They are also more effective at the end of the level.

I have experienced that ufo misses the target and our money is wasted and same with the fish

In level 3166, you get 2 saucers that you have to clear to use. By the time you clear them, the board is pretty much cleared except a few down the middle column. The saucers do not even hit the middle row even though there are no other squares to clear on the board
