May I know whether you are saying that you are not receiving lives from friends? If yes, please be informed that something sticky is going on in the Facebook message system these days so many players aren't able to send or receive any lives.
This is being looked into by the Game Team and Facebook, and hopefully get fixed shortly. We will post any updates or news about the issue on this thread.
However, you may try and disconnect the device from internet, wait for several seconds or more before reconnecting back to the internet for the time being, as it may work sometimes. Play a level and try to send lives to your friends after that.

There is currently an issue with sending and receiving lives for some people, At present this is being investigated and we will update when we have any news on a fix for this

@dfoixylady Hi and welcome, As explained by @wykoon there is an issue with sending and receiving lives, but please check you device and game are up to date and log out and restart your device and then log back in to see if this resolves your issue, but if you have a facebook account it is probably the issue we are awaiting a fix on
