This afternoon, CC has switched to portrait mode on my iPad. No other app is doing this.
Iāve tried locking the screen to no avail.
Anyone any ideas as to how to fix this?

This test ended in December 2021.

There is a play test in the game on mobile devices where the game is only available in portrait mode.
Therefore landscape mode is not available for some players at the moment.
The play test started this week and will approximately be live for a month.

Good job the banks donāt do tests in live apps! Not sure why King havenāt identified testers who could do this in Beta versions rather than release this to the live community with no notice! Very unprofessional in my view!
Disappointing that the change to portrait appears to be committed to, am sure some iPad players will continue, but certainly not allā¦. As I said yesterday, seems all a bit Microsoft in its approach to customers š„

Mine changed too! Unable to play in landscape since 25-10-21. Struggle playing in portrait mode!
Wow only playing in portrait mode on the Ipad. Not sure in what year you are living but for me unplayable at this point in time. Don't know who made that decision but at my company, he/she would be fired on the spot. Please give me my landscape back. If this will take more than a week I will be gone.

Hello dfghjk01 there is nothing that can be done to fix this at the moment. The mandatory portrait mode is the result of a test being run by King.
Please leave your feedback in the thread linked by Kiara, so that King might realise how unpopular this kind of test is.

A few days ago my game went into portrait mode on my iPad. I have this turned to lock on my device but the game overrides this. This is extremely annoying. Can you please fix it?
Hi @Glay55 unfortunately you are the victim of a test that is currently being run. I would suggest you leave some feedback in the thread linked by Kiara to add to all the other people that aren't happy wirh this change.

I play candy CCS on my iPad in landscape. Now can only play in portrait, I donāt like it, my iPad is set up to be used in landscape. I will stop playing this game until it is changed back to being able to play either orientation.
Can I please get a notification in 5 months when you have returned š
I have decided to delete the app and find something else to play as I just canāt adapt to being forced to play in portrait, it is inconvenient and uncomfortable. Shame, I was making great progress but maybe Iāll have more free time now!

I don't care about a test situation, I was never asked to be a test bot. I log daily just to keep my login streak going.
The crazy cat lad needs to go back to his masters and get a proper answer of when this will be fixed, not some lame answer about testing some crap no one wants to be a part of.

Mine too has changed to portrait mode and I DO NOT like it! No other app forces you to play in this mode. I will not be playing until it changes. Sort it out please
It is pretty brutal to simply select random users for a test where you influence (restrict) properties that have a direct relationship to things such as ergonomics, i.e. potentially forcing people to stop playing to prevent RSI risk (worst case) or at the minimum impacting the comfort of playing.. we all know companies like facebook do experiment, however I donāt think it has ever been in those type of āenforcedā properties ā¦.

We have two identical tablets one account is behaving as before, the other account is forced to portrait.
This is very onnoying and costed a lot of time trying tot fix this without result.

It's an awful decision, I play on a samsung tablet and my phone aswell. No issue with portrait mode on the phone but portrait mode on the tablet is an awful thing.
1 month wait for this to maybe be fixed is treating your customers horrendous, being forced to play a certain way is so poor and I hope this is rectified ASAP and not in a months time.

Hi when will candy crush go back to landscape mode, portrait mode is all squished up.
Candy Crush is still in the landscape for the PCS...and the King.com version. Try turning off the orientation lock. Other players might have reported this.

With your new update it doesnāt allow tablets to have landscape orientation ration. Been playing for years and now you make this change. We should have an option.

Well (after adjusting your settings), if you still find the game in the incorrect (vertical) orientation; you will know that the problem does not lie within your device, but within the game.
In that case, you would probably have to wait until a future game update for the fix...

I have happily played Candy Crush in landscape mode on my iPad for many many years, I reached 2929 and would have continued had King not changed the settings. Unfortunately, I found playing in portrait mode doesnāt suit me so I have found other games that suit me better and I have logged out of CC. There is life after CC!
