Why do I have to add friends again, who are already friends?

The friends that I have hade for years, and who still show in my progress, are recommended to me to add, and don’t show up when I ask for lives.

I lost all of my friends also! They recently made an update to the way Friends work and for many this meant starting over their friend list unfortunately.
