Caramel is a background element, like Jelly or Jam. Tiles covered with Caramel cannot occupy any blockers, except for Licorice Swirls and Toffee Swirls. All other blockers will be destroyed if they touch Caramel. Also, Candy Bombs are slowed down if they’re on a Caramel tile. Basically, if a Candy Bomb is on a Caramel tile, it’ll count down every two moves instead of one. Caramel cannot be spread or destroyed.

Hello @Farnsworth. What you describe is an element that helps a player, so like every other 'helper' in the game there must be a cost attached.
King do not generally introduce game elements that help a player without offering a downside. I can't see a downside to your Caramel. An element that slows down bombs and destroys blockers has the potential to make levels a lot easier.
What “helper” items are there, and what are their costs?
I don’t know… Bonbon Blitzes seem to add little challenge, and they are very powerful in the destruction of candies.
I would say the downside to a Bonbon Blitz @Chocoguy is that they can't be generated by a Lucky Candy when they are part of an order. Also any jelly underneath a Bonbon isn't destroyed when the Bonbon is removed. This fact alone can lead to you struggling to get the last jelly ingredient required to complete an order.
What is the downside to this Caramel?
