I don't understand this holiday game even though I play it every day and advance. but unable to open any of the numbered gifts.

Are you not receiving any rewards from the Holiday Calendar? What do you mean by you are not able to open any of the "numbered gifts"?
Can you please explain a bit? And do you have any screenshots to show those numbered gifts? It will help me find out about it!
The way I understood / how it works in my game is that, we receive a booster reward some days and some days, we receive special tasks. Please see THIS Post for detailed schedule of the Holiday Calendar.
