I see three answers to the "riddle".

1. You could assume the value of the float is 20, high value, values incremented by 5 = 40
2. You could assume the value of the float is 0, low value, values incremented by 5 = 20
3. You could assume you are matching the pattern of 30, 15, 30,... so float in -5 = 15

Not that I am entering the contest, just pointing out the answer depends on what you see as the pattern and all technically would be correct :)

That's what I thought! Then I thought, what am I missing? And then, is this algebra, oh no!? Lol I'm going to take it as a UFO as well. Seasons greetings!

Except math is not based on assumptions, it is precise. And math does not have to match a pattern. In a riddle I suppose that could be part of it, If that is what they're asking for. It's quite confusing. I'm going to ASSUME (lol) the float is a UFO!

Yup which is more or less my point. Either you make an assumption or it is a riddle/pattern match. No matter how you look at it, you have multiple correct answers.
