I'm used to pranks played by Sam, the most usual one is his disappearing act nearer to end of the event, so usually I lost the event, and with it my rewards.
This time he is playing a new game with me
He stayed with me to the end, so I'm going to claim my rewards?
NOPE. Looks like it's starting all over from day 1 of the 7-day event.
NOPE again. At least not for me, after 1 episode, my score remains the same, while other players are catching up.
I don't like this. It makes it like I'm the cheater, starting on 1st hr of day 1 with such high score, when in fact I'm the one being cheated of my rewards for the last round, and not getting progress for this round.

Hi @MonicaYellow and Merry Christmas. I am sorry this is happening to you. This issue has been reported to the studio. Hopefully they will have a fix for it soon. We will update you and the other players when we have more information.
In the meantime please make sure your game is up to date, you have cleared your cache and restarted your device (make sure it has been turned off for at least 10-15 seconds).

One part of the issues has been fixed, Sam's Streak progress credited correctly now, though rewards for the last round have not been given.
Progress after completing one new episode:
But this was at a price, my win streak progress at 884 all gone and restarting from zero:
I completed the levels (4697-4700) at 1st try, prior to resuming playing this afternoon
so there's no reason why I had to re-start my level win streak from zero, with win streak 1 for level 4702
I understand how frustrating that can be. I have lost my win streak in the past thru no fault of my own - a glitch in a level (for example candy continually falling or the game shutting down for no reason). I have just ended up building the streak up again. The only possible option is to reach out to Player Support and see if they can restore your streak (I'm not sure if they can - but they are the only ones who could possible do this).
