You have to complete three Episodes before you get to the Champions Race though @christinewupp
You have to win 15 levels. One episode, that's always 15 levels.
Mine reduced to 40 which suddenly now the most you can get is 40 but you have to win like 60 levels to get there

I don't understand what the standard is?
In my case, it became 35 gold bars from December 23 last year. And ads come and go. About a month later, until now, it became a fixed 40 gold bars.

I was reduced to 35 for over a month and after putting it in a comment it miraculously went back to 45 last week. Hope this comment doesn't revert it back to 35.
That is an odd thing to say PummyRaj. You make it sound like everyone that gets 40 gold bars from the Champions Race should automatically get adverts for an extra five gold bars. That is very misleading as not everyone receives adverts in their game. Therefore those people without adverts will just receive 40 gold bars and nothing extra.
To put it another way just because you get adverts for 5 extra gold bars doesn't mean everyone does, and also some people still get 45 gold bars

The 40 coins for the champions race is something many of us have now. King are testing this out and may decide to roll it out for every player or may go back to 45 coins for every player. They make changes like this on a regular basis. They do, as part of their game management, hand out different events and prizes to different test groups. It is common practice for all sorts of events in Candy Crush. Another example is the differing "legendary" prizes some of us get in the Hungry Hatchling event, and the top win streak boosters are different for different groups of people as well.
The disappearance of videos is also part or King's strategy and is discusses in this thread
OK this is really getting old. I won my third race still receiving 40 coins and there are no videos at all to watch to get the five additional points so now I’m out of 15 coins.

I have the same, just 40 gold, in one of my three games, the other two still have 45. We must be part of a test group that only get 40. King do run tests from time to time and assign players to different groups with different prizes for the same events. Why they do this.....I don't know.
