This morning I opened up candy crush and I got 4 hrs free lives it said claim now, I didn't claim it and right away x put of the game so I could save it for tonight.. I was at work so I could not play the game.. I got back to the game tonight and the free 4hr lives are gone, timer must of started when I opened the game, why even have it say claim now when the timer activates when you open the game, so I lost out on 4 hrs of free lives... Very disappointed 😒

Hello Mary Ann🤗 Welcome back to the King Community!
All these gifts are "automatic"! Because of that, even if we did not click on "claim", these gifts are added to the game as soon as we open the game!
If you like, may be you can suggest it in our Ideas Section to change the feature --> HERE is our Ideas section!
Yes, that is how the app works @Mary-Ann_Avella and it is indeed very annoying and has angered players for years. I tried exactly what you did once with a timed reward about a year ago and found that the timer starts the moment that the offer appears on your screen and the claim button is just fake. It applies to the timed boosters from the daily treat machine as well. You don't even have time to make a cup of coffee, so since then I wait to open the game in the morning until I know I have time to play for at least half an hour.
To have a 4 hours free life offer appear on a weekday morning is quite inappropriate. Do King want players to lose their jobs? Best not to use the app until evening! Is that what they want?
I think having this sort of offer pop up on a weekday morning is inappropriate and King should reconsider if this might backfire on their profits. It sends out the message "Don't open the app until after work" . Is that really how King want players to behave? You might want to feed this back to them. 4 hours timed offers should be for weekends only.
I disagree @christinewupp. I find the three/four hours unlimited lives very helpful in the week as it allows me to fully use the time I have. With unlimited lives if I play for half an hour or an hour whilst I can the unlimited lives means there is no danger of me running out of lives whilst I play.
Personally I feel the offer of three/four hours of unlimited lives isn't there to allow a player to play continuously for four hours it is there to allow players to play continuously for any spare time that they do have available over the duration of the unlimited lives.
The three hours I received yesterday were great. It allowed me to play uninterrupted for half an hour at lunch time and then another half an hour later on.
My personal opinion is that for the good of their health no one should be playing this game for four hours non-stop.
If anything I believe King should think very carefully about offering long periods of unlimited lives to their carefully as in the bigger picture it isn't healthy
