If your level 405 is like mine below with the gumball machines?

My advice is to not waste boosters repeatedly on any legendary level. Always play the first move the game suggests, and if you don't see an obvious good second move, then follow the second move as suggested as well.

The gumball machines will count down each time you make a match next to them or hit them with special candies. So this level plays like most legendary levels: Wait for a lucky board to come along and then watch out for any opportunity to create special candies. The stripes that drop are helping but are not enough to clear all these blockers. Watch out for any sign that the game is trying to help you by dropping the candies you need to create colour bombs or wrapped candies and then make most of those by creating wrap/stripe combos or colour bomb/stripe combos. It may take many attempts before you get a lucky board, but don't waste boosters on this and eventually you will pass.

If you have any gold then you could pay your way out, once the game offers you enough extra moves for your gold. At this level range you ought to get some easier boards and get back on a win streak after such a tricky level. You can win every episode race to get more gold if you play an entire episode in 24 hours, so try to get more gold from those. (Ignore the opposition, they are not real )
