I wish you all the luck in the world. The fact that I got into the finals at all was a fluke. I happened to be in a very low scoring leaderboard in the qualifier where 230,000 was good enough for third place. I agree, some people are better at puzzle solving than others, and I am not arrogant enough to think no one is better than me. It takes more than just being good to win this. It takes playing lots of new levels, and, for me, that would be way too stressful. I can only take Candy Crush a little at a time. It also takes levels that are easy to pass with lots of green candies. Just have fun with it and don't waste more boosters and gold than you will gain in the end.
I reset my game back to level 1 in May. Don't waste your Gold Bars / Boosters to get less Gold in the end. Winning Episode Races are definitely the best for collecting gold and using that to buy boosters if needed. I have definitely learned a valuable lesson I was at level 16400+ before my reset.
If anyone needs to chill and take themselves for a walk it's you.
Good luck with your game ๐

I agree with Peaches that the way to win these leaderboard competitions in Candy Crush is to play lots of new levels. If you play fast enough you will win all the episode races and events and this is the only way to win live leaderboard events. Players on levels higher up struggle to do so and this takes a lot of energy and time, which many of us don't have. There is certainly a lot of pattern recognition involved in Candy Crush, which yes, not every player needs to have played for years to see these patterns, it comes naturally to some people, I agree with you about that.
Please be aware that King manipulate the game to a huge extent: They encourage new players to play fast and zoom through the early levels by the way they control events in the game. The Race for Gold event is a real live event against other players, but in many other events (episode race, Candy Royale, weekly race etc) King control which opposition they pit you against, so initially they will make sure you win enough of these to enjoy the game, get addicted to the game and make you believe that you are one of the better or even one of the best players! King send players out the illusion that this is a skill based game. Don't fall for this manipulation because eventually they will block you in with impossible levels in hope that you will start to spend lots of money. King control every event and they control if and when players may pass a level. The true skill of Candy Crush is to recognise how this manipulation works and find a way around it, by using gold and boosters wisely and only at the right moment. Ironically, in my opinion the true skill of playing Candy Crush is to know when to pause playing!
You've clearly cracked it this time round @Colleen12 ! That is a good gold total! Is it still growing in your game?
I'm still serious about next year's All Stars, so I'm taking it much more slowly and may even have to pause altogether so I don't hit the hard level ranges. From memory I would say that levels 4000-7000 should be a good range to play during a leaderboard competition, but of course King will probably change all the levels before long, like they do.
This is where I am at:
